FAQ (General Information)

Are you a Federal, Provincial, or Municipal park?
No, we are a park created by interested community members who joined together to create a non profit organization, run by a board of Directors. We use all money collected through admission fees, sales and events to manage, maintain and develop the site and all the installations.

Do I have to pay the admission fee to be on site?
Yes.  Our admission fee is very reasonable and includes all applicable taxes.   If you would like to become a member then your annual pass covers all your individual entries for any current season.

How long is your trail system?
Our interpretive path is 1.1 km in length; leaving from and returning to the main chalet.  It generally takes 35-45 minutes to walk this section of trail.  All along this path are artifacts of the log drive as well as panel boards with relevant information.  To see the path please take a virtual visit.

Can I just visit the main lookout?
Yes, you may just go to the main look out; however, the full site admission fee will still be collected.

I just want to come and picnic or watch a friend on the aerial park.  Do I still pay the admission fee?
Yes.

Is your site wheel chair accessible?
Our site is in the forest, we have built the paths to reflect the natural elements of the site, but added steps and walkways for the facilitation of the visitors.  The chalet and the path to the first footbridge are accessible by wheelchair; however, the entire path is not.

Do you allow dogs on the site?
Yes! Your dogs are welcome but must be on a leash at all times, please be sure to clean up after them.

Can I visit the site wearing sandals?
Yes.  The main path is very accessible with most types of footwear; (brides even come in their heels) however, we request that you wear closed toe running shoes if you plan to use the additional site trails or any of the aerial installations.

Can we eat at the site?
Yes! You are welcome to bring a picnic and use our many tables.
Juices, soft drinks, snacks, ice cream, chewy bars, chips are available in the canteen.

There are also local restaurants in town and we would be happy to provide you with directions and recommendations.

Do you sell souvenirs?
You can visit our, on site, boutique, where you will find all kinds of original souvenirs for purchase.

Are maps of the site and footpath available?
Self guided tour books including 4 post cards, site map, and local history are sold at the reception building.

Are there bugs?
Yes! We are in the forest and there are bugs (especially in May and June).  We suggest you do not wear or use perfume, cologne or hairspray.  Bug spray helps, and if you forget you can purchase some at our site.
